On 3-20-70, the undersigned re-interviewed ALAN SPRINGER who stated on 8-14-69, he went to Spahn's Movie Ranch and engaged in a conversation in the gun room at location with CHARLES MANSON, BRUCE DAVIS, CHARLES WATSON, CLEM TUFTS, DANNY DE CARLO, and an unknown boy. Mr. Springer stated Manson said, "if you want something, just go knock on a door and when they answer, run them through and everything in the house is yours or you can force the people to sign over their personal property. If you kill them there's no one to talk about what you did. Blame it on the "pigs" or "niggers" and leave a lion's paw print or something. We killed five pigs..We also got another one and cut his ear off."

At this time, Mr. Springer stated the (indistinguishable) came into the conversation but he would not recall who said it. He further stated Manson said, "We killed this guy and cut his ear off." Springer added, "What did you get out of it?" and Manson replied, "We took his cars."
