Tuesday, March 3rd, 1970
LOS ANGELES, Mar. 3 – Charles Manson, accused leader of a hippie murder cult, will tell his story on a record album to be released this week.
Phil Kaufman, producer of the album, said it will be released on its own label, the Family Jams, because the recording industry would not touch it.
“This is Charlie’s way of offsetting yellow journalism,” with other members of “the Manson Family” in the slayings of actress Sharon Tate and six other persons.
Among the songs in the album will be “People Say I’m no Good,” “Sick City,” “Garbage Dump,” “Mechanical Man” and “Eye of the Dreamer.”
