Dallas, Tex., Aug. 24 – We are currently sorting through hours upon hours of audio interviews recorded during the Hinman, Tate, LaBianca and Shea investigations. In the coming months, we will begin posting these historic recordings, all digitally remastered from the originally reel-to-reel tapes. Recorded in 1969 and 1970 by Inyo County Sheriffs, LAPD, LASO and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, the tapes include interviews of Manson family members, associates and witnesses.

Glad to hear y’all enjoy the site. We’ve put a lot of work into both the photo and audio archives. There’s been a lot of exciting things going on behind the scenes and I can’t wait to get these sections launched.
Can’t wait! Hope it’s soon…this site will be the “go to”…for all things TLB…
Thanks for all your hard work…
Great news! Will you be including the interviews with Dennis Wilson?
I don’t have anything with Dennis. But I do have an interview Gregg Jakobson that I will be posting.
Finally something new to get excited about…..
Great find. Congratulations!
I’m Curious — where’d you get the tapes and who can you tell us will be available to hear besides the names we can see on the boxes in the photo? Anyone from the first few weeks after the murders occurred? ?
Thanks Tom. I’ll make a list at some point, but at the moment I’m not sure which recordings will be posted online. There are several hours here and I’m still sorting through most of it. I can say that there is nothing from the first weeks after the murders. The earliest recording is from October 3rd, 1969. I’m launching that one tomorrow.
These audio recordings will be a godsend. Will they be in a MP3 format?
Hi Johnny, I thought about hosting it as mp3, but decided against it because of the bandwidth. Having a few wouldn’t hurt, but down the road, when several hours are posted, it would be a heavy load.
If you need any help or a second set of ears let me know.
Again, thank you for bringing these tapes forward.
Do you have the interview with Jay Sebring’s butler, Amos Russell? I think it was the LAPD which recorded an interview with him.
I have a good handle on everything right now, but thanks for the offer Johnny, I appreciate it. As far as Sebring’s butler, I don’t have any recordings of him. If a tape of him still exists, I’ll try my best to obtain it.
Thanks for the photos! Awesome!
Great work on the photo archives. Will you be adding further photos in the future? Great job to your staff and looking forward to the audio files. Well done.
