On November 4, 1970, Sgt. Whiteley, Homicide Bureau, submitted a man's black left shoe to be examined for the presence of human blood.

Seven individual areas of material resembling dried blood which had been dripped into the inside portion of the show were noted. This material was found to be human blood of type "0".
