Welcome to cielodrive.com. 41 years ago, Los Angeles witnessed a series of brutal murders that sent a wave of panic throughout the entire city. Immediately a media frenzy ensued; the tabloid press, and even mainstream media rushed to judgment, both printed scandalous stories suggesting that the victim’s own lifestyles were somehow to blame for their gruesome deaths. Four months later, the true story emerged through confessions and the LAPD started making arrests. As it turned out, the murders, as well as the murderers themselves, were far more bizarre and unbelievable than anyone could’ve imagined. After multiple murder trials all the killers were convicted and sentenced to death. However, none of those death sentences would ever be imposed because in 1972, California briefly outlawed the death penalty, stating that it was an inhumane law. All prisoners with death sentences saw their sentences commuted to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole. Today, all the Manson family killers are actively trying to get out of prison while relatives of victims are forced to attend parole hearing after parole hearing, to remind the California Board of Prison Terms why those people should remain incarcerated.
