Impressive opening. I LOL’d thinking about how Kanarek objected to it…Testament to Vince in that I believe he essentially read it from memory, only occasionally checking his notes…Also remarkable in that there are few crossed out lines in the final version. Thanks for posting Cielo; would his closing argument possibly be in the offing sometime in the future?
I don’t have his closing statement at the moment, but will post it if I ever get it.
Regarding the opening statements, both Bugliosi and Manson provided the press with them. This article – written by the source of my copy – mentions the two statements and how Manson’s was more sought after.
Notice Bugliosi says Helter Skelter was just ONE of the motives.
