Charles Manson Dead at 83

Sunday, November 19th, 2017

CORCORAN – Inmate Charles Manson, 83, died of natural causes at 8:13 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at a Kern County hospital.

Inmate Manson was admitted to state prison from Los Angeles County on April 22, 1971, for seven counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder for the August 1969 deaths of Abigail Ann Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Earl Parent, Sharon Tate Polanski who was eight months pregnant, Jay Sebring, Leno La Bianca and Rosemary La Bianca.

On December 13, 1971, Manson received a first-degree murder conviction from Los Angeles County for the July 25, 1969, death of Gary Hinman and another first-degree murder conviction for the August 1969 death of Donald Shea.

Inmate Manson was originally sentenced to death. In 1972, the Superior Court of California in the County of Los Angeles vacated and set aside the death penalty pursuant to People v. Anderson (1972). The decision caused all capital sentences in California to be commuted to life in prison. Manson’s death sentence was modified to life on February 2, 1977. California did not have the life-without-parole sentence at the time.

California inmates who receive a sentence of life with the possibility of parole are entitled to parole consideration hearings after serving the legally required minimum term. Inmate Manson had been denied parole 12 times between November 16, 1978, and April 11, 2012; the last parole hearing he attended was March 27, 1997. He was not eligible to have another parole hearing until 2027.

Inmate Manson had been housed in the Protective Housing Unit at California State Prison-Corcoran since 1989. The unit houses inmates whose safety would be endangered by general population housing. He had also been housed at San Quentin State Prison, California Medical Facility, Folsom State Prison and Pelican Bay State Prison.

Good. May this unrepentant scum burn in hell for eternity. He was a loser’s loser and a monster. He ruined 100’s, if not 1,000’s, of young lives. He should have been executed long ago.

  2. Broken Spell says:

Okay backup singers, it’s time to come clean and stop taking secrets to the grave.

  3. tricia says:

    rest in hell

  4. Fayez Abedaziz says:

    Hello,
I mentioned something about brother Charlie “I’m outta here” Manson on the other article
about ‘Van Houten Appeals Tex ruling’ where dear Louise suggested something about my getting Leslie out with my support for cute Leslie’s freedom.
So, check my answer there, Louise and you will like it
cause it’s kinda cool and you…ah…maybe won’t knock my words
cause you know I write lyrics

  5. Louis says:

    Nothing to celebrate here…

    And in the end
and all that we have been and done
we’re looking around places and people doing everything
I look up high and I think
we were all born and children once
    And in the end
there is still a child in every woman and in every man

  7. JJ says:

None of the Manson Girls was getting out while their pimp was still drawing breath – one died meanwhile & the other who went on both slaughterings still won’t, but the third now … just might.

And truth told, at this juncture given the rules reset for the three of them – and right or wrong, they were – I believe she should. Free in this world but like her cult leader now’s finding out, the next world – if there is one – judges too.

And peace to the innocent victims murdered – by these monsters in the flesh – always.

  8. CB says:

    His death may help Leslie.

  9. Kip says:

This blows, now we’ll never have an objective view on the parole of the Manson women. “They were only released because their manipulator is dead.”
Manson should’ve accepted the surgery they wanted to do back in January or whenever it was but instead he waited until the last moment. What an idiot.

    Finally..

  11. Holiday says:

    Amen brother.

  12. Sunny says:

Wow, this case is almost 50 years old. People get murdered every day. Why so passionate about this one? Are the people commenting here friends/family of the victims? I don’t understand the obsession. Manson paid his debt to society and now he’s gone. Whether he will face divine justice or not, I have no idea. I would hope there is such a thing. I would also hope that he made his peace with “God,” if there is one. Or maybe he’ll simply be eaten by worms. Nobody knows what happens after death, if anything.

  13. Rosie says:

Why so passionate about this one? The victims were murdered brutally by a group of so called people with no morals what so ever. I will never get over thinking of the victims begging for their lives only to be butchered. And Susan Atkins telling Sharon Tate, “look bitch I have no mercy for you. You’re going to die so you better be ready”. Manson and his killers denied all those innocent people and an unborn child their lives, yet once convicted and sent to death row, they ended up with life sentences. No justice for the victims. Yes people are murdered every day. Does it make it right? And that some of us choose not to forget those hideous crimes in August of 1969 make us wrong? Whether someone has made their “peace with God if there is one” is not the point. Manson and his cohorts can never pay their so called debt to society. tell me, when does any victim of murder get their release from the grave once their killer has died?

  14. Janet Palrano says:

There was. Child in Sharon Tate’s stomach & Manson could care less

  15. Louis says:

    Rosie says:
“look when does any victim of murder get their release from the grave once their killer has died?”

Charlie can’t even get released from the Coroner.

  16. Sunny says:

I’m not saying being passionate about it is wrong. I’m just wondering why. This world is full of evil. I know how horrific the crimes were. I’ve only been hearing about it for 50 years. Jeffrey MacDonald killed his pregnant wife. Where is the outrage about that poor woman and her baby? Maybe she wasn’t as pretty, but does that really matter? There was still a child inside of her. The killers had no morals, okay, that’s obvious. Does any killer have morals? Does OJ Simpson have morals? Does ISIS have morals? Did Hitler have morals? I just don’t understand why, out of the evil hideous crimes that have been committed, this one gets people riled up the most. Is it Sharon Tate? There were other victims.

  17. Bethany Trainor says:

you must be very young. There is NO WAY that you could have been conscious back then and NOT understand why. The papers were so ridiculous with their coverage and their stories about the murders and the trials that they scared everyone. I was very little, but I remember seeing the pictures in the paper and thinking Charlie was the devil himself.
Jeffrey MacDonald and OJ killed their family, ISIS is a terrorist group and Hitler was a dictator. You cannot equate them.
Someone like Charlie could come along today and do the same thing. This guy was so manipulative, that you wouldn’t even know he was doing anything to you.”you’re doing it to yourselves, man” Today, he probably would not have been found guilty of the Tate and LaBIanca murders. That is the reason that it still fascinates people.
Read the books, read the real thing. Helter Skelter was crap but there are other books that explain things better. The new book on Manson and also” Member of the Family” might explain things better.

  18. Sunny says:

Brainwashing is not against the law. Being a bad influence is not against the law. He only had a handful of “followers.” It’s not like everybody in LA fell down at his feet. If those people were duped by him, that is 100% their fault. We all have a responsibility to protect ourselves. Manson is overblown by the media. Horrific things happen every single day. If you think Manson is worse than ISIS or Hitler, you’ve got some very serious problems.
